FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most from patients in Palos Hills and nearby.
Appointments & New Patients
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes — new patients are welcome and we're taking them now. Call (708) 974-1319 or send us a message and we'll find you a time. If it has been years since your last visit, that's a common reason people call rather than an awkward one.
What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit typically includes a full exam, a professional cleaning, and X-rays if needed, plus time to talk through any concerns or symptoms you've noticed. Plan for a little extra time compared to a routine cleaning visit.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Your insurance card, a photo ID, and a list of any medications you take — including anything over the counter. If you have recent X-rays or records from another dentist, bring those too, or let us know and we can request them.
Can I transfer my records from a previous dentist?
Yes. Tell us which practice you were seeing and we can request your records and X-rays on your behalf; most offices ask you to sign a release first. It saves retaking images that are still current.
Are you open on Saturdays?
Yes — every other Saturday, 8am to 2pm. Because it alternates rather than running every week, call (708) 974-1319 to confirm which Saturday before you come in. We're closed Thursdays and Sundays.
Do I need a referral to see you?
No. You can book directly with us — a referral isn't needed for general or family dentistry. If your treatment turns out to need a specialist, we'll make that referral for you.
Do you see dental emergencies?
Call our office at (708) 974-1319 as soon as a problem comes up and we'll do our best to get you seen promptly.
Insurance & Payment
Do you accept my insurance?
We work with most major dental insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Delta Dental, Dental Network of America, Guardian, Humana, Lincoln Financial Group, MetLife, Principal Financial Group, and United Healthcare. We'll file the claim on your behalf. We do not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or HMO plans at this time — call us and we're happy to check your specific plan.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes — we accept CareCredit, which lets you spread the cost of treatment into manageable monthly payments. Ask our front desk for details at your visit, or before you schedule.
Treatment & Care
How often should I have a checkup?
Every six months suits most people, and what matters more than the exact interval is not skipping it. If you have gum disease, frequent cavities, or a medical condition that affects your mouth, we may recommend every three or four months instead — we'll tell you what fits you rather than applying one schedule to everyone.
What kind of crowns do you use?
We use state-of-the-art, metal-free, tooth-colored crowns designed to blend naturally with your surrounding teeth.
I'm anxious about dental visits — what can you do?
Tell us before we start; it changes how we run the appointment. We'll explain what we're doing before we do it, work at your pace, and stop whenever you need a break. Anxiety is common and it isn't something we'll rush you through.
I've been diagnosed with cancer — does that affect my teeth?
It can. We recommend an oral health screening before cancer treatment begins, and we offer a comprehensive oral evaluation along with continuing care throughout treatment. Please call us as soon as you're able so we can get you scheduled.
